Levels
These levels are not necessarily how the classes will be taught, as much as a guide line on how we group the students so they are well-matched. Because all of our classes are specialized to each student's needs any of these skills maybe taught in various different combinations. Level Patches are awarded to the students based on the skills achieved within each of these levels.
Level 1 & 2:
- Enter Comfortably in the Water
- Blow Bubbles with Nose and Mouth
- Put Face in the Water
- Introduction to Back Floats
- Introduction to Jumping in the Water
- Introduction to Kicking on the Wall and with a Kickboard/Barbell
- Introduction to Scooping while Held and with a Kickboard/Barbell
- Introduction to Pushing off the Wall with Glide and Kick
Level 3 & 4:
- Push off the Wall with Glide and Kick
- Back Float
- Introduction to the Front Crawl
- Introduction to Side Breathing
- Introduction to the Backstroke
- Introduction to the Breaststroke Kick and Arms Individually g. Bob Up and Down In and Under the Water
Level 5 & 6:
- Front Crawl with Side-Breathing — Basics
- Backstroke — Basics
- Deep Water Preparation
- Swimming Underwater/ Bobbing for Rings
- Breaststroke — Basics
- Treading Water
- Introduction to the Butterfly
Level 7 & 8:
- Passed the Deep Water Test
- Front Crawl with Side-Breathing — Intermediate
- Backstroke — Intermediate
- Breaststroke — Intermediate
- Butterfly — Basics
- Treading Water for 1 minute
- Introduction to Sidestroke
Level 9 & 10:
- Front Crawl with Alternate Side-Breathing — Coordinated
- Backstroke — Coordinated
- Breaststroke — Coordinated
- Butterfly — Intermediate
- Introduction to Flip and Side Turns
- Swimming Distances of 50 — 100 yards
- Sidestroke — Basics
Level 11 & 12:
- Front Crawl with Alternate Breathing — Advance
- Backstroke — Advance
- Breaststroke — Advance
- Butterfly — Advance
- Incorporate Flip and Side Turns while Swimming Distances of 100yards or more
- Swim Team Basics such as the Individual Medley and Various Relays
